Ensimmäiset eurot: en bok om hur de första eurosedlarna kom till


 

Boken ” ENSIMMÄISET EUROT ‒ Eurosetelisarjan synty, liikkeeseenlasku ja ensi vuosikymmen” (De första eurona – Eurosedelseriens uppkomst, utgivning och första decennium) har utgetts. Verket är en ingående beskrivning av ett projekt som söker sin like i den ekonomiska historien.
 
Verket beskriver den första europeiska sedelseriens skeden från de första åren på 1990-talet fram till utvecklandet av den andra eurosedelserien, den så kallade Europa-serien, som lanserades 2013. Författaren, som arbetade med nyckeluppgifter inom projektet, berikar sin djupt initierade granskning med beskrivningar av många personliga upplevelser och rikliga illustrationer. Även om infallsvinkeln i boken är europeisk återspeglas frågorna i förhållandena i Finland.
 
Författaren Antti Heinonen har en exceptionell och lång internationell karriär inom sedelbranschen. Han hade en central roll i utvecklandet av eurosedlarna och beredningen av utgivningen redan då han arbetade som chef för betalningsmedelsavdelningen på Finlands Bank. Antti Heinonen arbetade från och med 1998 i över tio år som direktör för sedelavdelningen på Europeiska centralbanken och svarade under den perioden även för ibruktagningen av eurokontanter 2002.

Finlands Bank ordnar en Ekonomibok Nu-diskussion som är öppen för allmänheten i Finlands Banks myntmuseum i dag, torsdagen den 13 mars 2014 kl. 17.30. Boken debatteras av Heinonen och vicehäradshövding Matti Louekoski, tidigare vice ordförande för Finlands Banks direktion, som ansvarade för kontanter i Finlands Banks direktion vid tidpunkten för utgivningen av eurosedlarna och -mynten.

Finlands Banks diskussionsserie Ekonomibok Nu belyser ekonomiska begrepp med hjälp av litteratur. Under diskussionskvällarna behandlas någon aktuell finländsk bok om ekonomi. Föreläsningarna är öppna för alla och publiken kan delta i diskussionen.

Det renoverade myntmuseet ligger strax invid domkyrkan, adressen är Snellmansgatan 2. För närvarande pågår den tillfälliga utställningen ”Ekonomiböcker som förändrade världen” i museet.

LETTER OF INTENT

6. If we use electronic media online, we will include a link to www.new-euro-banknotes.eu and we will inform the ECB of the material used and where it has been used. We will forward the links.
7. We understand that stocks of ECB materials for distribution are limited. We will inform the ECB of the number of copies distributed, the means of distribution as well as the target groups.
On behalf of the company/institution mentioned above, we declare that we will refrain from using any materials either in printed or electronic form provided by the ECB until our membership of the Partnership Programme has been confirmed.
We will be liable for any damages incurred by the ECB should we not act in accordance with this Letter of Intent. We also understand that the ECB reserves the right to terminate our membership at any time.
